Most people in America have someone in their family or know somebody who is an alcoholic. Millions of people suffer from this disease, whether or not they come to grips with the fact that they are an alcoholic. Alcohol abuse is a serious issue, causing a countless number of people pain, anger, and sorrow. Relationships among friends and families are destroyed or scarred because of this devastating illness. This disease can not be treated, there is no cure. An alcoholic is an alcoholic for life. It leads to social problems as well as occupational problems. One of the main things to remember about alcohol abuse is that the depths of anguish are felt not only by an alcoholic, but by family and friends also. The purpose of this site is to inform people about how serious alcoholism, to convey the grief caused by it, and to get people thinking about how alcoholism has affected them in their life. Although there is no cure for an alcoholic, there is help.
