The players will own these territories until they are taken by another player. Players owning neighboring territories can challenge for a previously owned territory. This combat is turn based (by the week), so it is likely that many players will be fighting over the same territories. Anytime their are more than two players fighting on the same land, there is the option for either free-for-all or team play. It may be that an aliance is formed only for the first battle, and after the other contenders are kicked out the aliance breaks down into a one on one battle for sole ownership. If you decide to keep the aliance, all income and points are affected by the multiplication factor relevant to the number of owners on one piece of land. This means that a single challenger taking the land from a team of two would get twice the points divided by a one. If a team of two takes the land from a team of two, then they get twice the points divided by two (thus the standard points). A team of three taking it from two get twice the points divided by three (thus less than normal). If there is free-for-all, it is the standard points given to the single winner. In any one turn, you can only battle once for each of your territories. If in the future you own two territories, you may be challenged on both and thus must defend twice in the same turn. You can also challenge others with all of your territories each turn, but only one challenge can come from each territory in a turn. This means that you cannot challenge the same neighbor with the same territory twice in a row just because you own more than one territory. If however, both of your territories neighbor that same piece of land you want, each one of your territories can challenge that player in the same turn (but different actual games). I wish to make it clear that it is no more than one battle per territory per turn. Therefore, if you challenge to expand out and thus battle a neighbor to the West, the person neigboring you on the East may challenge you own your own land in the same turn (since you have to defend, you are thus forced to play a second match in the same turn/week). This is why there are different multiplication factors for the different territories. The factors depend upon how many neighboring territories there are -- how many potential invasions. This relates to the map as a whole, not ownership. Therefore, if you takeover all the territories from the center to the corner you reduce the number of neighboring enemies for some of your territories. Since it is likely that some players will be taking over most of the map, rogue players can always challenge from the periphery. This means that all territories except 6,7, 10, and 11 are open to attacks from unseated players trying to enter the tournament. If you lose your territories, you will become a rogue and can use this same method to get back in. If you lose all of your territories and take on the rogue title, you will also lose income. These factors will be detailed below.

For the initial tournament, you can get all of the puds in one download with the zipped file below. Note that changes may need to be made to these maps since they are not play-tested. I will be posting updated links next to the individual maps with a date and the new pud to download. Before playing a match on any territory, you should check here first and make sure you and your opponent have the same pud. OK, so for now get all at:

Please note that each pud is labeled "map#(s, f, or t).pud" where the # is the number corresponding to the grid above from left to right, top to bottom, ie.

and (t=team play -- usually paired with slots 1-4 vs. 5-8, sometimes 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 -- so depending on how many players, close slots with cut between 4 and 5. ie. if team play is 2 vs. 2, play with 1 and 2 slots vs. 5 and 6 slots with the others closed.) There are a couple of exceptions. territory 1 has multiple puds for team play with a number affixed to denote team sizes -- on these, use the correct pud and then close the last slots without any gaps in between player slots. On territory 11, only six total can play, with the team one 1-3 slots and team 2 4-6 slots. This is really not as complicated as I am making this sound, you will understand when you look at the descriptions or open them in the map editors.
