Membership in the CSUSM Pre-Health Society is open to all students at Cal State San Marcos.  To join, please contact Kat Schulz at schul024@csusm.edu. We ask that members try to make one meeting a month! The cost to join is $10 per school year. Please pay your annual membership fee to Richie Gray at any club meeting. Thank you

Dr. Joanne Pedersen's workshop on writing personal statements. Did you know that graduate schools require a coherent and thoughtfully written personal statement? Applicants often find that writing a personal statement is the most difficult portion of the application. Dr. Pedersen’s writing workshop will give you the valuable tools needed to compose a stellar personal statement. Don’t miss this one!

Timothy Waud, San Diego Health Care Recruiting Station Commander from the
Army is coming and will speak about opportunities in health-related
careers in the military, which provide for paid tuition, monthly stipends
(paid as an O-3, Captain), and guaranteed employment after school. He will
provide info on their Baylor Doctorate in Physical Therapy program. Lunch
will be provided.

In the growing field of medicine it is important to understand the variety of medical avenues that patients are using to address their needs. One such avenue is Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. Please join us for an informational session with The Director of Admissions from the PacificCollege of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (San Diego). Gina Baxley will speak to us about Chinese Medicine including acupuncture and herbology.  Please join us to learn more about fascinating form of complementary medicine, how it is applied, who is using it, and what it takes to become a certified Chinese Medical Physician.

Representatives for the Pomerado- Palomar volunteer program are speaking
about their program  If you have ever thought about volunteering at a
hospital this program is great; you are able to rotations in different
departments so you can see a variety of medicines e.g. obstetrics, surgery
etc.

Ross University
The Associate Director of Admissions, Lori Muramoto, for Ross University
School of Medicine and School of Veterinary Medicine will be presenting
information on both schools.  This is a good way to learn about admissions
for any school!

Pre-Health Society is sponsoring a blood drive with American Red Cross! We
need volunteers to help the day of the event and we need volunteers to
give blood!  Please let Kat Schulz (schul024@csusm.edu) know if you are interested in getting involved!
