On November 2, 2005 Alpha Zeta Chi hosted a book party for Dr. Jill Watts and her recently published biography, HATTIE MCDANIEL: Black Ambition, White Hollywood (Amistad/HarperCollins; October 2005). Dr. Watts gave a brief explaination of her new book while those attending enjoyed snacks and refreshments. Following Dr. Watts' presetation Alpha Zeta Chi presented her with an honorary award for Outstanding Accplompishment in Historical Biography. Below are several photographs taken at the event.
