Points System

In order to be recognized as an active member of SIE, each person is responsible for earning 8 points over the semester. Here are just some of the ways to gain your points, the SIE Board may, from time-to-time, offer options not listed below. We offer members a variety of options to earn points, members should contact the President if they have any concerns about their ability to earn points.

•  Attend a Meeting - 2 points

•  Participate on a Committee - 3 points

•  Networking event - 3 points

•  Recruit a Member - 2 points

•  Attend a Community Service Event - 3 points*

•  *Event points may vary depending on the time commitment involved

•  Attend the annual banquet or initiation function ? 3 points

•  Attend a social event - 1 point.

*A total of 8 points, earned at a minimum of 3 separate functions, are needed for the semester to be an active member . Only active members are allowed the prestige of wearing the SIE graduation stole during ceremonies. If you are graduating in the fall, be sure to join now to earn your points! Your GPA and success at CSUSM are to be commended; you want to stand out from the crowd. Estimates are that only 10% of graduates wear something special on top of their robes for graduation.
