OFFICE OF
U.S. INDIAN AGENCY,

Toledo, Benton Co, Ogn. Jan, 23, 1879

Hon. E.A. Hayt Commissioner Ind. Affs.
Our Agent William Bagley has not yet returned. He is trying to haul in the medicines sent us from N.Y. by your office. Success is extremely doubtful. The heaviest storm of this season is now raging. Winds terriffic, trees of the forest falling, and the floods immense. The roads were considered impassable before. But if any man can get that freight in Mr. Bagley will do it. Our means for tansportation are exhausted, and much freight is yet to be transported, during this quarter. Will it be possible to increase this appropriation?

Very Respectfully
T.F. Royal
Acting U. S. Ind. Agent.
