Lesson Two Review

Choose one of the three assignments below and email me the results:

The links in this assignment will open into a new window. Don't forget to close the extra window to get back to this page.

1) The Weather

Find a weather report for your hometown or a city close to it (try the CNN weather page or the Yahoo weather page if you can't find your city's weather with a search engine) and follow it for 3 or 4 days. Keep track of the temperatures (in Farenheit, if possible) and the outlook (predictions for rain/sun/snow/storms). After you have collected this information, email me with the answers to the following questions. Please write in paragraph form.

2) Current Events

Find a news story that is popular right now and follow it for 3 or 4 days. (It should be a story that will continue making the news for several days.) After you have collected information about it, email me with a summary of the information. It might be helpful to answer the following questions. Please write in paragraph form.

What is the main idea of the news?
To whom, where, when, (how) & why is this happening?
What has been happening recently?
What happened yesterday?
What is happening now?
What do you think will happen (will be happening) in the next few days?

3) Grammar Quizzes

Take online grammar quizzes for the present (simple, continuous, perfect, & perfect continuous), past (simple & continuous) and future (simple) tenses. This will involve taking several quizzes, but you probably won't need to take all separate quizzez. For example, if you find a quiz that contrast simple present and present continuous, that will count for both tenses. Email me the results.
