The Wedding Day

The wedding came just after graduation in 1996

 

Bev and I got hitched at a beautiful shindig in my sister’s backyard with about 75 friends and family. Wedding invitations went out about 3 months ahead of the big day. We even did the save the date magnets. What a great invention those are. My sister’s backyard has a trellis that was big enough to cover the preacher, Bev and myself. We had flowers everywhere and the weather was perfect. We could not afford an organist to play the wedding march so we handed out kazoos to the guests and had them play the tune as my father walked Bev down the isle. It brought a tear to my eye. The preacher did his deal, I placed the wedding ring on her finger and the party was on. Let me tell you, there was a drink or two had that night.
