Exercise #1 •Experimenting with Voice. Due Sept. 4
Experiment with two or more exercises which intrigue you from part one of Finding Your Writer’s Voice (pgs. 1 - 69). For instance, the activities on pages 30 (the child voice) or 33 (exploring the public/private voice) or 43 (devloping a personae) or 40 (a chorus of internal voices) might be good start. But feel free to choose your own. Be prepared to share the results of one of the exercises with the class. This can be in the form of a writing sample, a video document, a reenactment or another form. For instance if you tell a story to a stuffed animal (pg. 33) you can bring the toy in and retell the story, or you can videotape or audiotape your attempt at home, or transcribe what you said and read it to the class. Feel comfortable to be as creative as you would like in completing this assignment.
You will be using Finding
Your Writer's Voice throughout the semester, so you need to buy it. However,
