Funny thing about life, patterns, hormones….
on occasion, one year becomes the next at Light Speed…
just like that (snap)!
then the following one –
drags on and on and on and….
going nowhere --- relentlessly…
like a truly bad poem that got picked
over yours
being read unmercifully by your lover (a traitor unaware) who found it
unforgivably moving –
like a drill boring through your skull –
no anesthesia…
anomie, the one constant
in the sluggish pace of the human condition….
everyone moving at a pace slower than your own
circadian rhythm (all-consuming like a Nine-Inch Nail song)…
leaving you with no other option but to halt
and wait
and wait
and wait –
for
the world to
catch up…
creeping slowly –
in need of a jolt: a wake up call –
someone finally getting his–
a bombing, an at-large-serial killer –
a war –
like the bumper sticker that did it for you:
“If you’re not angry, you’re not paying attention.”
a sinisterly long spell of
sleepy Sundays and comfortable silence…
leading to temporarily insane –
wishful thinking.
