CSUSM invites applications for a Tenure-track Assistant Professor position starting August 1998. Candidates are expected to excel in teaching and research, contribute to the development of a young, growing university, and make academic connections with present faculty. An applicant's mathematical interests should focus on graph theory or combinatorics; additional mathematical breadth and experience in postdoctoral positions are highly desired. Experience in applying technology to teaching and learning, interest in preparing future teachers, and awareness of current pedagogical issues and general education are desired. Applicants should have completed all requirements for a Ph.D. or its equivalent before assuming duties.
Applicants should send a completed copy of the AMS Standard Cover Sheet (page 1003 of the September 1997 "Notices of the AMS"), a vitae, a teaching philosophy statement, a research statement, and a photocopy of an official graduate transcript(s) (an official transcript will be required from all finalists), and arrange for at least three letters of recommendation (one of which should comment on the applicant's teaching experience and ability) to be sent to
